About Guide des droits sur Internet

Guide des droits sur Internet is an independent resource focused on digital rights, privacy, and online security. We started this project back in 2018 after realizing how tough it was for people in Canada and beyond to find clear, trustworthy answers about keeping their data and online rights safe.

The idea really came from everyday life. Friends and colleagues would ask the same questions over and over: “How do I know if this site is safe?” or “What happens to my personal info when I sign up?” It was clear there wasn’t one reliable place to turn to. So we decided to create this directory as a kind of go-to reference, pulling together the basics of digital safety in one spot.

Today, our small team brings different strengths to the table: from digital media and law to cybersecurity. We’ve also got writers who know the iGaming space well, which is important because it’s one of the areas where licensing, data protection, and user safety are constantly put to the test.

Why We Cover iGaming

At first glance, online casinos might not look connected to internet rights. But dig a little deeper and they’re actually one of the clearest examples of those rights in action:

  • Licensing and regulatory oversight show whether an operator can be trusted.
  • Personal data and financial information need strong protection.
  • Responsible gambling principles are part of wider digital user rights.

That’s why we include casino reviews as case studies that show how digital rights like encryption, transparency, and regulatory checks actually work in practice.

Our Goal

Our aim isn’t to push a specific company or product. What we care about is helping users:

  • spot which services feel safer,
  • recognize transparent practices,
  • understand where risks might hide.

We try to stay open and practical. We cite sources, use feedback from real users, and focus on clarity so the information we publish is something you can trust and use.
